Speech pathologists work in the areas of communication and swallowing disorders. They also assist children and families in reaching optimal function in social settings and getting along with peers by developing play and social skills. Our Speech Pathologists support children to improve:

Speech sounds

e.g. errors such as ‘wed’ for ‘red’ or ‘nake’ for ‘snake’

Language delays & disorders

Following instructions, vocabulary and verbal language, limited sentence structure, use of incorrect words or grammar and sequencing ideas

Fussy eating

Limited range of accepted foods, difficulty at mealtimes (including very slow mealtimes)

Literacy, spelling and reading skills


Alternative & augmentative communication (AAC)

e.g. communication devices and alternative means of communication

Developing and maintaining friendships

Conversational skills and understanding of social rules
